Its name is due to the fact that it passes under Picos de Europa and provides breathtaking views of the limestone wall of this beautiful mountain range. In the urban area of the village was declared site of cultural interest. Built in the XIII century, it is the oldest preserved building in the village. It is next to this point where the path starts. You can leave the car in the free parking available. The route is very easy to hike. It is 5 miles long and it is circular. This means you can do it following two different directions. In our case, we wish we had done it in the direction Mogrovejo-Redo-Tanarrio anti-clockwise in the map.

In Mogrovejo you will find a bar to take power and free parking to leave the car. It is ideal to do it alone or with family.
My routes and tracks
H iking holidays with kids can go badly wrong. One walking trip we did was cited long afterwards by our youngest as an infliction of cruelty. In part this was down to the beauty of the mountains, which are dramatically steep and craggy — the Dolomites of Spain. Thereafter, the views were so captivating that complaints halted. We had a few murky days but most were warm, sunny and clear. The mountain range is small, just 40km by 20km, though roads are so winding that driving a circuit round it takes a full day. Even in high summer the roads and trails were surprisingly quiet.
Culture Trip stands with Black Lives Matter. A circular route, it is approximately 9km 5. Although it starts with a slope upwards, the rest of the trail is pretty flat and easy going, passing through green pastures and cute villages. Located in the heart of the Picos de Europa in Cantabria, the hike takes just under an hour and is downhill the whole way — perfect for those with little legs who find it difficult climbing steep slopes.
